Dean Jae-Young Sim of the UNIST Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence received the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation for his outstanding contribution to digital talent development and regional innovation through AI education and research.
Since 2019, Dean Shim has led UNIST’s AI initiatives by establishing a strong foundation for interdisciplinary education and research across engineering fields. Under his leadership, the Graduate School of AI, founded in 2020, has become one of Korea’s leading institutions with 41 professors and 582 graduate students developing advanced expertise in artificial intelligence.
He has also driven industry–academia collaboration through the AI Innovation Park, offering tailored AI education and data-driven projects that strengthen regional industries.
