A paper on video saliency detection has been published in IEEE TIP.

What does the human eye see first in video sequences?

Prof. Jae-Young Sim has co-authored “Spatiotemporal saliency detection for video sequences based on random walk with restart”, published in the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing. Human visual system is highly intelligent to extract visually important information from video sequences almost effortlessly. This paper proposed an automatic video saliency detection algorithm which analyzes spatially and temporally salient features together based on the random walk with restart framework.
